A Brief Introduction to Gantt Chart and Other Data Flow Charts

A graphical depiction of the flow of data and documents between different departments or regions of responsibility in an organization is known as a flow of a document or a(a) flow chart. The flow of the document is typically represented by a horizontal axis, with one continuous line on top of which all the documents are progressing down, i.e. from top to bottom. The horizontal axis in a(a) flow chart is typically drawn across the top of a(a) in a line, while the vertical axis in the other forms is typically shown as a series of successive values representing the sequential number of pages or records being accessed. In other words, it represents the time it takes to go from any document to the next.
b) Document Flow: here the(a) data store and(b) the system flow is depicted as two horizontal lines on the chart. The(a) data store is usually represented as a single column that represents an item in the data store. This item could be anything from an individual record to an invoice, order or document. The(b) system flow is represented as two horizontal lines from the(a) data store to the (ab) user interface, which normally connects to the application server.
c) Graphic Illustration: here the(a) graphic illustration and(b) the(c) flow of data flows are illustrated on a single line. The(a) graphic illustration can be a photo, an image or any other graphic representation. The illustration(b) may represent anything from a(a) technical presentation to a(b) human interaction. The(c) flow of data flows from one (a) data source to another (b) logical data source.
d) External Entities: here an external entity is considered as any object that alters the state of any data flow. For example, a light beam changes the state of any data flow just by being perceived. An external entity is used here in the examples of a light beam in a photo, an audio signal in a computer and a person speaking in an online chat. A special kind of external entity called an event occurs when an external entity is perceived by the user.
e) Document Types: here flowcharts are classified according to the data types used in documents. Document types can be classified according to the content of a document or according to the relationship of that document to other documents in a set. Common data flow subjects are text, graphics, audio and video. Data flows that have no specific direction can be called a directed flow. Here the source of data flows can be identified either by a label or by some other means.
f) Internal Control Systems: here flowcharts are depicted as internal control systems. Internal control systems control the processing of a process. Internal control systems can be implemented as a hardware device like an interrupt-driven programmable logic engine or as a software artifact like a control panel or a network interface. Examples of internal control systems are firewalls and anti-viruses.
g) Job Descriptions: here flowcharts are used to display the job descriptions. Job descriptions contain all the information about the process that needs to be performed, the number of steps needed for performing that process and the details of each step. Job descriptions are usually made after analysis and after survey by employees. Job descriptions are usually used to make sure that all necessary controls are present and working properly.
h) Process Flow: here a data flow chart is used to display a process flow or a process sequence diagram. The process flow or a document flow chart is used to indicate the sequence of commands or data that are processed during the execution of a certain system. For instance, a data flow chart is used to determine when an employee should sit down or take a vacation. Data flowcharts can also be used to create orderliness and productivity in any business organization.
