Ideas For More Creativity
Creativity is a process through which something new and something useful are formed. This is done by the innate human faculties. It is not something that can be consciously learnt. However, the capacity to produce original work of art, music or anything else is endowed in all of us.
Creativity can be described as an innate trait that we inherit from our parents and it remains with us throughout life. In most cases, creativity is not visible in children until they start learning how to express it. The produced object may be tangible or intangible. It is not something that can be measured in numbers or measures like colour or shape or any other number of things.
The innate nature of creativity also enables us to be resourceful. It is our instinctive ability to use our mind to find a solution to almost any problems. A creative child will be the first one who will cry wolf in a crowded environment. Creativity does not mean that we are better than everyone else, it only means that we have more of an instinctive drive to find out something better and a stronger desire to try it.
The other aspect of creativity is also an innate characteristic. This is imagination. It is the part of the brain that is responsible for the mental processes like planning and designing, and so on. If we do not have this faculty, it is very difficult to think of new things and inventions.
It has been argued by many experts that some diseases might have a connection with the innate nature of creativity. It was observed that children with ADD or ADHD are often creative but have difficulties in concentrating and focusing. There are many theories that support the notion that there might be a link between creativity and health. For instance, creativity could be a result of increased energy, better immunity or a change in the genes, or some other unknown factor. Some of these factors are still under investigations.
So far as innate characteristics of creativity are concerned, one might say that it is handed down through the genes. It seems a little strange to accept but that could be the reason why many of us seem to inherit an inherent creativity. Another possibility is that creativity is an innate personality trait that just can’t be learned. After all, a person can be highly creative one day and totally non-creative the next. Personality traits like being a fun-loving, open-minded person and so on, seem to be innate and cannot be learned.
Some people have a natural flair for music or for art. They see their creativity rising each day. They feel in control of their world and they always seem to find a way to make things interesting. Perhaps that is another factor that makes their creativity so attractive to others.
So, I think overall, creativity seems to be a good thing. And it would stand to reason that if we could increase creativity, we’d increase productivity, help make the world a better place and that would make us feel good too. So let’s give it a try. After all, isn’t that what our ancestors did?
There are some tried and true methods for increasing creativity. For example, old-time story telling is a great way to pass the time. The stories can get your creative juices flowing and help you think of new ways to solve problems. In addition, singing and playing music help you tune into different types of sounds and enunciate more clearly.
You might try to draw something. Or to paint or to use some other form of expression. Don’t underestimate the power of music. In fact, I often talk about the power of music to increase creativity because it creates a sort of hypnotic effect. It will make people think and remember things that would otherwise not be remembered.
So there you have it. This is a short list of five simple but powerful suggestions to get you thinking about creativity. Don’t just sit there and think about them. Put these ideas into action and I’m sure they will start to flow. Creativity is the key to solving problems and coming up with innovative solutions for others.
