The Difference Between cruelty-Free Beauty Products and Non Cruelty Cosmetics

    • Categories Article

When used as adjectives, beauty product means any product of beauty, whereas personal care product means any products used to improve the internal condition of the body, e.g. skin, perfume, body lotion, body wash. Personal care product as an adjective: Anything applied directly to the skin for the purpose of improving the internal condition. Beauty product as an adjective: Any cosmetic or personal care product used for beautification.

So the question here is that how do you source for a beauty product? What sources should be considered when sourcing for beauty products? What are the advantages and disadvantages associated with these? Is there anything that you should consider while buying a beauty product? All of these questions are important when sourcing for beauty products.

The most popular type of beauty product is organic and green beauty products. These are made of all natural ingredients that are safe to use, especially if they are sourced from environmentally and socially responsible companies. Green brands are also better than other brands as they are more effective, efficient and reliable than their non-organic counterparts. In fact, many cosmetic manufacturers, especially those who are new to the market, source for green beauty product ingredients only.

The biggest disadvantage of non-organic or green beauty product ingredients is the health risk they pose to consumers. The most famous example is Dioxin, which is a by-product of manufacturing. Dioxin causes cancer. It is used in a large number of soaps, shampoos and cosmetics, including some brands produced by Doxane, a major manufacturer of personal care products that was until recently owned by ethically conscious Unilever. Other major manufacturers of personal care items are Colgate Palmolive and Dove.

While it is true that some plant-based ingredients may be toxic, there are others which are not toxic at all. Phthalates are a good example of this. Phthalates are commonly used in a wide range of personal care products. Some of these are in soaps, lotions, shampoos and makeup, and in some cases you can find phthalates in make-up too. That’s why it’s important to read the labels on your beauty products to ensure they do not contain phthalates.

The other big challenge when sourcing for beauty products is whether to buy them from reputable suppliers who supply to major retailers or manufacturers. A lot of consumers have become wary of products they see being advertised as being” cruelty-free” or “greenwashing”. What exactly does this term mean? Essentially, it refers to the process of using certain ingredients that are known to cause harm to animals, but are actually sourced from third world countries and then marketed towards consumers.

If you want to be completely sure that you are not purchasing ingredients sourced from live animals, there is another option. Take a look at the ingredients in popular brands like cruelty-free skincare, organic skin care, and natural body care products. If the majority of the ingredients in those products are sourced from other countries, and they are not sourced from live animals, then you are safe. There are only a small number of manufacturers in the United States who practice cruelty-free or greenwashing, and they are the ones you should be looking out for. These companies offer consumers an assurance that when they purchase their favorite beauty products that they are buying something completely safe and healthy.

One way that the best brands remain cruelty-free is by purchasing all of their products from recyclable materials. Not only is this great for the environment, it also allows the brand to be absolutely 100% organic and not have to pay a thing to the environment. Brands like L’Oreal make a big deal about being “green” but they also continue to support programs that save wildlife through breeding programs, fund conservation programs, and increase public awareness. When L’Oreal continues to do these great things for the planet, and it continues to garner popularity, then they are considered to be on the cutting edge. Other major beauty companies that are environmentally conscious are Colgate Palmolive, Anais Pouliot, and Revlon. If your beauty conscience is strong, and you want to help make the earth a better place, then these are some of the names you should be thinking of when shopping for a great brand of cruelty-free beauty products.
