Modern Technology Giving Freshmen an Opportunity to Fish From Home

    fishing

Fishing is the sport of attempting to seize small fish by the throat or tongue. Small fish are usually caught on the water’s surface, on the ocean’s bottom or in fishing bodies of water like streams, rivers and lakes. Techniques used for fishing include netting, spearing, hand gathering and catching with a net. There are two forms of fishing: indigenous and commercial.

In the early 20th century, some American anglers developed and began using artificial lures or baits in fishing. These lures gave anglers the advantage of having to use fewer and smaller bait and thus more chances of landing the fish they were searching for. As the sport of fishing became more popular, these artificial baits became more widely used and fishermen also started using live bait. Live bait gave anglers the opportunity to use a wide range of bait fish species. However, it also increased the workload of the fishermen and delayed the sports fishing activity.

Early in the first decade of the twentieth century, a trawler named Melville captured a record 22 yellowfin tuna, one of the largest catches of the century. One of the early benefits of the trawler was that it could leave port and return without stopping. This was very convenient for both the captain and the crew, because they could leave for fishing and return without having to stop to eat and rest. Early in the 20th century, these fishing vessels also had a number of engine power and a wheel loader to help load and unload the trawler. Today, many modern day trawler boats are designed with Bimini covers to keep the water inside the craft. Trawler boats also have a long deck and lots of space.

In England, the term “trawler” referred to flat-bottomed sailing boats that had a sloop on the front and a larger keel behind. A grimsby was another name for a trawler, but it meant that the vessel was a gunboat. Trawlers could also be called rowing boats or yachts.

Trawler fishing has become a modern sport with specialties in many regions of the world. Some of these anglers use state-of-the-art gear and tackle to reel in the best catch. Others still use traditional gear and tackle but upgrade their lures or rods and lines to attract more fish. There is a large section of anglers who use new and innovative fishing methods to attract more fish to their fishing grounds.

Fishermen now use a variety of technology to aid them in their hobby. New technologies such as GPS fish finders, bow and arrow fishing, sonar tracking and fish tracking, are helping to update and enhance fishing for the fisherman. Some fishermen are even using dating apps to help find their next fishing partner. The Internet, with all its dating options, is giving every guy the chance to meet a potential mate.

Anglers are not the only ones benefiting from the newest technology. Boats, also use GPS and sonar tracking to find the topography of the lake they will be fishing. This helps them determine where to hit their lines to maximize their catch. Fishing enthusiasts, especially those who know how to use the various tools at their disposal, are finding it easier to fish from the comfort of their homes than ever before.

In a society where we are accustomed to doing things quickly and efficiently, fishing has been left far behind. New comers to the sport are finding it difficult to adjust to the lifestyle of fishing because of the specialized equipment that is required of a successful fisherman. Some have been able to learn to adapt by learning the basics of bait casting, spinning and fly fishing. Others have found it difficult and have yet to master the art of monofilament line in order to catch fish in streams and rivers. Thanks to GPS and sonar devices, now anglers have the opportunity to fish from the comfort of their boats and are not forced to master complicated fishing skills that require precision casting, timely reels and sophisticated lures.
