How Politeness Can Help You Succeed in Business and Life
No person in this world who does not have a political view and I mean every single one of them. The problem comes when we start to separate what is political and what is personal. Politics as it relates to your personal life is what we call policy. Policy is something you do in the name of politics. Policies are either your thoughts or your desires to serve your fellow man.
Let’s think about this shall we? If you are a parent you know your children’s needs and wants more than anything else. You know their future and how they will be sustained. You have given them all your material things, you have provided for their basic needs. Do you really believe that the government should know everything about your private life?
The truth is, they already know a whole lot. You, as a citizen, have all the same rights and privileges that every other citizen has. They cannot invade your privacy, because you own those things. Do you really think they should have access to that information if you give it to them freely? I mean if they need it they can look at it.
We live in a world where anything can be taken and used against you. This includes your private information. The government can use your private information to take your tax refunds or perhaps your freedom. There have been numerous incidences of identity theft that have nothing to do with you but with someone else who got hold of the information. All this is very scary stuff.
But wait, we also live in a world where people know a whole lot about you and your family. People know your hobbies and your likes and dislikes. They know your work habits and your work history. What do you think they can do to use that information against you? It sure makes me feel vulnerable and worried for the safety of myself and my loved ones.
This is why personal privacy should be more than just an idea. It is something that everyone should be allowed and should be protected. It is not fair that someone out there can make decisions about your life based on what they read about you in secret and unsavory sources. It is not right and should not happen.
So how can you protect yourself? Well, there are some things you can do to help yourself. If you ever get a taste of anyone’s personal life, be careful whom you give your information to. Always ask for verification of the person or persons from whom you are getting information. Also never publish any information obtained from another without verifying that the information came from them.
You must always be careful with who you give your personal information to. The Politic has their eyes on you and they will use everything against you, including your own loved ones. Just remember who has power over you and in what way they will use it. Protect yourself and you will be much safer.
It is also important to consider your own safety when you are dealing with someone you don’t know. Make sure you have someone to speak to about what you are doing. It might seem silly, but you could be much safer if you have someone to talk to. There is no reason to put up with this type of harassment.
This goes for anything that you do online. Don’t blindly trust every email that comes into your inbox, but also realize that just because you didn’t mean to send it doesn’t make it any less important. This is after all the Internet, which can bring you into contact with all kinds of people that you would never have even known to exist without the Internet.
Lastly, when in public speak, be careful about what you say. Use a bit of self-deprecating humor and you will be much better off. Do not over emphasize what you are talking about, as people online might think you are a little bipolar. Be subtle.
Above all, always be cautious. It’s always easy to look foolish or boastful online if you are caught. Be smart and stay away from things that you wouldn’t normally say in public. You’ll be much better off. Politeness is a virtue, so practice it wherever possible.
