Treatments For Arthritis – How Do Biomedic Medications Work?

    • Categories Article

Biomedicine is the clinical application of biology to the treatment, diagnosis or prevention of disease. These are basically the same concepts that traditional medical physicians apply to patients with diseases. It involves testing, studying, testing and prescribing medications. For any type of disease, a biomedical would be involved in the treatment or finding the root cause of the disease, isolate the disease from other sources and design the best possible treatment plan for the patient. The goal of the physician is to provide the best possible care for their patient even when conventional medicine is less effective.

Nowadays, healthcare professionals are often faced with managing many types of diseases including cancer, HIV/AIDS, diabetes, asthma, heart disease, gastroenteritis, urinary tract infection and several others. In all these diseases, there is a great demand for a better understanding of the disease, its symptoms, the Ayurvedic remedies and their effectiveness and finally the preventive measures. This calls for a better education and research on these important topics. The challenge of managing multiple diseases at the same time is further complicated by the fact that drugs used in one condition may have side effects in another condition.

As part of a biomedic management, a doctor may test a patient’s blood for the presence of some abnormal cells. These cells are called biomarkers. In general, biomedic arthritis pain treatments are based on Ayurvedic medicines. Some medicines that can be used in biomedic management include: Arogya Vardhini, Chandraprabha, Medohar vakya, Praval Panchamrut, Shatavari Dashmool, Tamra Bhasma, Gandhak-Rasayan, Guduchyadi-Qadha, Amalaki (Emblica officinalis), Haritaki (Terminalia chebula), Trivang Bhasma and Bruhat-Vat-Chintamani. Other medicines useful for biomedic treatment are: Bahava (Cassia fistula), Gokshur (Tribulus terrestris), Punarnava (Boerhaavia diffusa), Nimba (Azadirachta indica), Haridra (Curcuma longa), Amalaki, Musta (Cyperus rotundus), Trikatu (Three fruits) and Punarnavadi-Qadha.

Ayurvedic medicines that can be used in biomedic management include: Arogya Vardhini, Chandraprabha, Medohar vakya, Maha-Manjishthadi-Qadha, Saariva (Hemidesmus indicus), Manjishtha (Rubia cordifolia), Patol (Tricosanthe dioica), Patha (Cissampelos pareira), Musta (Cyperus rotundus), Kutki (Picrorrhiza kurroa), Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum), Nimba (Azadirachta indica), Daruharidra (Berberis aristata), Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), Khurasani ova (Hyoscyamus Niger), Samudrashosh (Argyreia speciosa), Daruharidra (Berberis aristata), Triphala (Three fruits), Rakta-Chandan (Pterocarpus santalinus) and Khurasani ova (Hyoscyamus Niger). Herbal medicines useful for biomedic treatment of fibroids include: Brahmi (Bacopa monnieri), Jatamansi (Nardostachys jatamansi), Shankhpushpi (Convolvulus pluricaulis), Vacha (Acorus calamus), Mandukparni (Centella asiatica), Chitrak (Plumbago zeylanica), Kuchla (Strychnos nuxvomica), Yashtimadhuk (Glycerrhiza glabra), Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus), Kushmand (Benincasa hispida), Erandmool (Ricinus communis), Shalparni (Desmodium gangeticum), Shalna (Aloe vera), Nirgundi (Vitex negundo), Tulsi (Ocimum sanctum), Nimba (Azadirachta indica), Triphala (Three fruits), Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), Daruharidra (Berberis aristata), Daruharidra (withania somnifera), Nimba (Azadirachta indica) and Khurasani ova (Hyoscyamus Niger).

It is important to ensure that the medicines prescribed by the biomedic doctor in combination with lifestyle and dietary changes do not lead to intolerable side effects. It is also important to maintain regular check ups with the doctor, at intervals recommended by him, to make sure that your condition is being managed effectively. A biomedic arthritis pain management doctor may use a blend of pharmaceutical, physical therapy and complementary and alternative medicine for treating chronic pain and inflammation. It is important to be sure about the medicines being taken, before starting any treatment, as some medicines cause serious side effects if taken without proper consultation. If the doctor detects any of these problems developing, he may ask you to stop taking the medicine immediately and contact him immediately to discuss alternate treatment options.

Biomedic agents work by reducing inflammation and pain by blocking the chemicals and pathways that cause pain. They can either be used orally in tablet form or a cream or lotion may be applied directly to the skin. Patients using the lotion or cream should consult their doctors before doing so. The dosage of medicines varies according to the type of pain and inflammation and also according to the body size of the patient. For smaller patients, the dose of medicines usually ranges from two to six milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day. In larger patients, the dose of medicine may be increased up to twenty milligrams per kilogram of body weight per day.

When used in the treatment of acute medical problems, the medicines may cause side effects only if they are used in combination with other medicines. Acetaminophen, for example, causes mild stomach upset if taken with other painkillers. Similarly, NSAIDs such as aspirin cause severe gastrointestinal tract irritation if they are taken with ibuprofen. Other medications such as benzodiazepines may cause drowsiness or slurred speech, depression, ringing in the ears or unconsciousness or memory loss in patients using these medicines. Before prescribing these medicines, the doctor will take into account the regular pattern of medical problems the patient faces. This may require the doctor to change the dose of an anti-inflammatory or analgesic depending on the problem.

Biomedic suppositories have been designed to be used to treat acute painful conditions that do not respond to the conventional methods of treating such conditions. These suppositories contain extracts of selected plants, minerals and vitamins that are known to have a soothing effect. The plant extract works by counteracting the effects of inflammation and pain by reducing the immune system’s release of chemicals called prostaglandins. The vitamin and mineral content of biomedic arthritis pain suppositories helps the body to make enough natural antibodies to reduce inflammation, pain and swelling.
